Sewing Mends the Soul...

First of all....Happy New Year Everyone!! I hope you have one of the best ever!! Holly Mimi...

Hi! Its time for another Mimi from Penny Black...I just LOVE this Christmas set...There are so many cute images to chose from...I used some red bling bling to put over the holly for sparkle...and sakura stardust pen was used on the snowflakes and her wings for even more sparkle...I cant believe Christmas is almost here...I am never ready on time are you? Snowmen in Florida?

I know you might be thinking Snowmen in Florida??? I dont usually use snowmen as part of my holiday decor but when I saw these sweet wooden snowmen I thought they were so cute! I found the tree in the background at Old Time Pottery for only 4 bucks and added some battery operated twinkle lights and tucked the battery holder inside the basket I put the tree in that was only 99 cents! The lantern I picked up at Michaels in the Wedding section...its a simple whimsical centerpiece for the dinette that lights up really pretty at night...Stop by The Lettered Cottage for some really awesome Christmas Ideas!

Christmas Angel...

Hey! I wanted to share another one of the Christmas Mimi Set images from Penny Black...I really wanted to cut out and pop up the star for fun and I also added some sakura stardust pen to make it sparkle...I first stamped Mimi then scanner her and resized to make her a bit bigger than the original ( I LOVE being able to do that with the computer).

Nutcrackers...



I LOVE Nutcrackers! They come in so many different styles and sizes...Today I wanted to share this photo I took at my Aunt Melba and Uncle Bill's house during Christmas last year...I found out they love them too! Arent they cute?! So when I saw these 3-D Embellishments I just had to get them...Hey Penny not sure if this is the set you were thinking of or not but here it is...And like all the Recollection 2011 Christmas sets I just place them on the white cardstock and mat them with a color to coordinate...Super easy! Mimi on a Sleigh..

Recollections 2011 Part Two...

Recollections Christmas Collection 2011

Hey! I am starting to get in the mood for Christmas! Winkie the Red Nosed Reindeer (Rudolphs Cousin)

Hi! Hope you are doing great! Happy Halloween! A Yummy Card by Guest Designer Lori Hamilton




Happy Halloween!! I am ready for some Trick or Treaters to stop by...Hope we get a few, last year there werent very many...A special treat for me was having these CUTE cards to share with you that my Aunt Lori made...Arent they adorable! This is the last of the three and I wanted to share with you not only the outside but how Lori does the insides too! On the outside she used so many wonderful details like the spider web punches and ribbon she thread through a slot on the card! She is really mastering her copic shading too! Wish I could...On the inside she adds a Martha Stewart envie but covered it in coordinating papers...how clever is that! And on the right you can see where she put her green paper through the spider web cuttlebug folder...She thinks of everything! I love the matted labels too...I wanted to give a shout out to Sue who emailed me asking if Lori had a blog...Sue loved her work...I passed the message on Sue and Lori says maybe one day when she retires...but until then I can post more of her designs in the future...Thanks so much to Lori Hamilton for letting me showcase her work and sending me these CUTE cards...We love you!!!

EEK and BOO!

Hi! Hope everyone is doing great! I am ready for the summer to be over and fall to begin arent you? Its been really hot here in Florida! Today I wanted to share with you a card I made using some brand new Recollection stickers I found at Michaels...They always have the cutest 3-D stickers for the holidays...They used to be only .99 cents which was a steal! Now they are 1.29 but worth every penny! They make for a cute card fast....I just took the stickers off the acetate and placed them on a white piece of cardstock (I tend to place them just like they are on the acetate cause they are usually just the right balance) then I matted them and added a spider web border on the bottom...Some of these cute little guys have googlie eyes and the spider is fuzzy and soft...Some "Happy Halloween" ribbon was added for fun! Close to You...

I have been on a Penny Black fest for a while now...Their stamps are just so darn cute! This is a Mimi stamp I recently got from my "Fairy Craft Mother" (thats what I call my Aunt) and speaking of my Aunt I will be posting a card made by her this week too...Its so pretty and I cant wait to share it with you...For this Mimi card I added a button and used some dental floss to thread it since its so easy to thread then some gingham ribbon tags to the right and some bling on a few of the flowers...I have been on a gingham kick too...I couldnt help but think of the Carpenters song "Close to You" when I named my post...Now I have to post that song! Crusin Mimi

I just LOVE these cute stamps by Penny Black...This one is called "Mimi on the Go"...My Aunt was so sweet to get me several of these stamps recently and I couldnt wait to ink them up! On this card I stamped and cut out the image, added brads on the wheels and made a little scene with blue paper for sky, designer paper for land and cloud and circle punches finish it off...She was so much fun to color too! Hoo Loves Ya Owl...

Over at SCS they used her card for the sketch challenge and I couldnt wait to play....Its such a Clean and Simple card but packs alot of interest...And thats whats great about her designs...I used a red and white gingham and a dollar stamp by Studio G for the sentiment...The SU Three in One punch was used staggered down the right of the card and bling was added for sparkle and popped up for dimension...White satin ribbon tied on the side and that completes by card for the challenge! Happy Bird-Day!

Hi! Hope you are doing well...Over at SCS they have a Clean and Simple challenge using puns...Heres the link if you want to play along...Theres some great cards over there! One of my favorite things to do is take a stamp that is small and make it bigger and thats what I did here...I used to see stamps and think "That would be so cute if it were just bigger" cause some of them are so small especially the dollar stamps...Then it hit me! I can stamp it, scan it and resize it to any size I want! And thats what I did with this dollar stamp I got a while back...On this card I cut out the cage and punched a hole to string ribbon through the top added some blue chalk for sky then computer generated the Happy Bird-Day to make a banner...The clouds were punches my Aunt Lori sent me that I have been dying to use...This was a fun card to make and super simple! Dad...Heres your sign....

Hey! Fathers Day will be here before you know it so I have been working on some cards for the shop...I combined my Snoopy stamp with one of the sentiments in a dollar assortment by Studio G a while back...Its makes for a great sign for Snoopy to hold...A toothpick was used and taped on the back of the sign and a bit of tape on the toothpick to secure on his hand...Snoopy was stamped and cut out and popped up...Thanks so much for stopping by!

Bunny in High Heels...

Hi! Hope your having a wonderful weekend so far...I just LOVE this stamp my Aunt gave me a while back and I wish I would have inked it up sooner! On this card I cut out and popped up the shoes and her purse and put a silver bead on the purse front...Some Sakura Red Stardust Pen was used on her necklace for a bit of sparkle...I didnt have a scallop punch big enough so I pieced together two to get the size I wanted...just tape to secure it and if you make your image piece big enough you wont even see where you pieced it together! Isnt this the cutest bunny! I just love the lipstick she is wearing...Thanks so much for stopping by...

Bird Watching...

Holy Communion....

Hi! Hope your having a great day...I had a request to make a First Holy Communion card and since I dont have any stamps that I could use for that I went to my trusty google and found a wonderful site called "Karen Doodles" and guess what she had? An awesome collection of Digi images and I found some that were perfect for my request so I ordered several of her images once I found her site! She has some really cute stuff and I will be sharing more as the week goes on...On this one I sized it to what I liked then cute her out and added some tiny pearls to her tiara and waistband...I kept the design very clean and simple where the focus was totally on the sweet image...I typed out the occassion then matted it on circle punches and hung it from a jumper ring on a sheer white ribbon...Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beach Fun...

Hey! I hope today finds you happy! In my series of cards using "Recollections" Stickers I thought these would make a great summer card...For either a "Have a great vacation" or how about an invite to a friend for a day at the beach...Whatever you chose for the occassion these stickers from Recollections are so much fun in their details...On this card I left the stickers in place right on the acetate they came on and just cut it out and matted it...You can hide the pop dots right behind the stickers if you want to pop up the whole set...And another reason to make your card this way is you can then let the recipient either keep it as is or use the stickers on a scrap page for your trip to the beach along with a photo from the event...Fun and super easy! Baby Feet...

Hey! Well its Spring Break over here at our house and its been so nice out...I hope you are enjoying some nice weather too! I wanted to share a card I made for a challenge over at SCS to use colored ink...I chose a blue ink and stamp both by SU!...Arent these baby feet so cute! I kept in CAS since thats my favorite style and added a bit of gingham ribbon as a tag and a button that I threaded with floss...I did one in pink and this one in blue...Hope you like it! At the Cafe...

Hi! I hope today finds you well! I just LOVE these Mimi Stamps by Penny Black...The sets are so versatile and come with several stamps in the set so you can mix and match...My only wish is that they come out with a Miles version of this set...Everytime I make a card using Mimi my hairdresser says I wish it was a guy instead of a girl...So I am hoping they come out with some more Miles sets...On this one I used three of the stamps to make this scene of Mimi enjoying some java with her cute dog near by at the cafe...I added a bit of bling on the dogs collar for fun..I popped up different portions for dimension (Her beret,the dog, the coffee cup and the cafe sign). My FCM (Fairy Craft Mother) got me this adorable set...I hope she doesnt see this card cause its going to her house...If you do Aunt Lori...Thank you so much for getting this set for me...I LOVE IT!!! Buttons and Lace...

Hi! I hope you are all enjoying some of this beautiful weather we are having...In Florida its getting hot already! But its so pretty outside with everything blooming and butterfly's flying around...I am hoping to get some new cards done and posted but until then here is a recent one I made for a challenge over at SCS...And I finally pulled out my lace I have had for a while to use on this card...I just love the look of lace on a card and have always liked using buttons too which I dont do as much as I should...This is one of my favorite color combos and I thought it would make a cute baby girl card...Hope you like it! St. Patty...

Hey! Hope you all are doing great! I have been looking for a cute image to make St. Pattys Day cards and I finally found it! Of course it would be Pink Cat Studio where I would end up....They just released some really cute images just for St. Pattys Day...I found some green gingham in my stash to add to my yellow, orange and white cardstock...Some black brads for buttons and a bit of gold sakura pen for sparkle on the gold and his buckles...The hat and pot of gold were cut out and popped up for dimension...I was tempted to add something else but really wanted the focus to be on the popped up items...Thanks so much for stopping by...To find this cute set heres the link...

Wedding Anniversary

Hi! Hope you are doing great! I had so much fun making this card...I found this baroque frame on google images and resized,cut and layered it to make this anniversary card...To make it extra special I used the punched out cupids and attached them as if they were holding up the frame...Some bling was added for a bit of elegance...The center of the frame was cut out so I could pop it up for dimension...Thanks so much for stopping by today! Punchy Art...

Hi! Hope your having a wonderful week so far...Todays post is a card I made for the Color Challenge over at SCS (my second home). Many times when I see a challenge I tend to over think it and then I come back to a Clean and Simple design and I feel better...I have decided it must be the style I am meant to do...It always gives me a sense of calm...On this card I used three different punches...The SU Bird Punch for the stem/leaves, Martha Stewart Three in One Butterfly Punch for the tiny blue butterflies and the SU Three in One Flower Punch...The white is such a great canvas to start with...it gives the design center stage...it took me a a few arrangements before I decided to go with this one...Punches are a great way to make a quick card that still has punch...(yeah I knew I was going to say that). Sailing...

Hey! Hope everyone is doing great! Its starting to feel like summer already here in Florida...And one of the best parts of living here are the beautiful beaches...So for todays CAS Challenge over at SCS to make a card based on The Great Outdoors I picked my favorite place...The beach...Sitting there watching the sailboats is so peaceful...I have always wanted to make one of these type cards using punches...On this I used my circle punch, square punch and then some wavy scissors...It was so much fun to make! I hope you like it...Now I have to add one of my favorite songs of all time...Christopher Cross "Sailing"...Enjoy!

For Beautiful Lips...

Hey! I had so much fun making this card cause I LOVED all the wonderful words of wisdom that go with this one verse...Its a poem by Sam Levenson that has been associated with Audrey Hepburn...It was her favorite poem and its said she loved sharing it with others...There are a few variations of it heres one...
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
