Sailing...

Hey! Hope everyone is doing great! Its starting to feel like summer already here in Florida...And one of the best parts of living here are the beautiful beaches...So for todays CAS Challenge over at SCS to make a card based on The Great Outdoors I picked my favorite place...The beach...Sitting there watching the sailboats is so peaceful...I have always wanted to make one of these type cards using punches...On this I used my circle punch, square punch and then some wavy scissors...It was so much fun to make! I hope you like it...Now I have to add one of my favorite songs of all time...Christopher Cross "Sailing"...Enjoy!

For Beautiful Lips...

Hey! I had so much fun making this card cause I LOVED all the wonderful words of wisdom that go with this one verse...Its a poem by Sam Levenson that has been associated with Audrey Hepburn...It was her favorite poem and its said she loved sharing it with others...There are a few variations of it heres one...
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; Never throw out anybody.

Something different today...

Hi! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! Today I am getting off my main topic of cardmaking to share something else I really enjoy doing...and thats making our house a home by decorating with the things we love and have collected over the years...Its so much fun to take different items you have to make something, especially when you have the need but may not alot of money. I was inspired to share this because one of my favorite blogs to visit is The Lettered Cottage they are having a linky party and I wanted to participate, I just LOVE the way they decorate! ...When we redid our kitchen and went from dark brown/black kitchen cabinets and olive green appliances and yellow countertops to a more lighter brighter kitchen (after I found out I could paint our laminate cabinets after watching a Christopher Lowell Show)by using Ivory on the cabinets replacing the rod iron hardware and then adding a faux butcher block counter top with cream appliances and beachy colors around the room...I had a wall at the end of our kichen that I would have loved to put beadboard on but didnt have the budget and it needed something to give it some interest...so I thought if I had some type of mirror to open it up but one that fit with our beach type theme it would help also to bring in the light from the other window over the sink...Luckily when I told My Aunt about looking for a mirror she told me she had one I might be able to use...It was perfect! I then took some old matchstick blinds I had and a shelf I had originally had in our bedroom and made this faux window...The candlestick, grass and starfish were items I had around the house that gave it more interest...I had so much fun putting it all together...So if you have some time and you love to create check it out below this post...Share whatever you like to create.. Love Birds...

I want to first start by saying Thank You to Everyone over at Splitcoaststampers for making my day on Sunday by chosing me as Featured Stamper....I was tickled pink when I got a message from Lisa (aka lisa lara) from Lisa's Life Lines that I was chosen(Lisa your a sweetie)...I was also in shock! I have enjoyed every moment I spend (and there have been MANY) over at what I call my second home SCS oogling over the wonderful designs that everyone posts there daily...I first joined in 2006 when a friend of mine (who I got my first SU set from) told me about it...Along the way I have met so many wonderful people who I am very proud to call my friends...I have learned so much from everyone there and it has really helped me in my card making...I would like to mention a few people who have had a big influence in my craft...First Connie Williams who got me started in cardmaking, then Aunt Lori who if it werent for her I would not be able to have the supplies I need to make my cards and to some of the card designers (there are many) who I oogle over their designs and hope to one day be as good as they are....Julie Ebersole from Paper Trufflez, Susan Raihala from Simplicity, and Emily from Stamping Scoops these girls have been the ones I always tend to be drawn to because I LOVE the clean and simple design! And a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to play along and make a card, your kind words and cards were so much appreciated! Hugs and LOTS of Love, Cookie
Ok now on with the card...I ended up using my SU Heart Punch and MS Dove Punch to make a quick and easy clean and simple design...I thought the colors really popped and the dimension from the pop dots and different shapes add alot of interest...Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in my moment...I appreciate you all!

Love is....

Hi! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day...I wanted to post a card I made recently using this beautiful scripture and I chose the Edwardian Font and printed it out, added some pretty paper, kept it very clean and simple and for some extra charm (no pun intended) I found some great charms at Michaels that you can open up like a locket to put a photo of a couple inside...Maybe you know someone who just got married or this could even work for an anniversary card...Threaded the charm on some satin ribbon and thats it! A quick clean and simple design with a little something extra with the addition of the photo inside the charm...Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend...P.S. Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!! I wanted to share a Clean and Simple card design with you that I made over the weekend...I had so much fun making it although getting the white thread around the tiny cupid hands was a bit tricky, I ended up putting a bit of double back tape to give some security so I could work with the thread easier...Pop Dots were added to the cupids as well as the hearts for dimension...Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day! Clean and Simple Flowers...

Hi! Its raining here in the Sunshine State...I hope we get some sunshine soon...But until then I wanted to share this happy, sunny card with you...There is a challenge over at SCS to make a clean and simple card using these colors...I thought the boldness of the font went well with the black brads in the center of the flowers...A quick and easy clean and simple card that you can use your tucked away flowers on...Hope you like it! She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah....

Hi! Hope everyone is doing great! Well since I made my Elvis card I thought it would be fun to do a Beatles card too using the same red, black and white color scheme and musical notes...I found these guys seperate and took them over to my word program to form a group on stage...My hubby corrected me on how I had them before he knows cause hes a big Beatle fan...I rounded the corners then matted it on the red with pop dots...Wouldnt this make a fun Valentine with the inside saying "She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah..." A very clean and simple card! Thanks for stopping by...Now you know I have to post the Beatles singing that song!

Elvis Makes My Heart Sing...

Hi! Thank you all so much for wishing my Mom well and a Happy Birthday...You are all so sweet and it meant alot to me! This is a card I made for a challenge over at SCS....Actually this ended up going with three challenges they had this week...The CAS104 Challenge on Monday, The WT308 Challenge on Thursday and The F4A50 Challenge for Friday....I love making contemporay art looking cards its so much fun and I am really into clean and simple design so it works out great! I used my SU heart punch and a musical note punch to my layout and then added a bit of star bling to Elvis eye...I am a huge Elvis fan I even named my daugher Priscilla after his ex-wife...Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hmmm I think I will post an Elvis song now with Valentines coming up I think I will go with some "Love Me Tender"....:D

Smooches...

Hi! Sorry its been a while since I have blogged...My Mom had a triple bypass a couple of months ago and had to go back into the hospital because two of the three they bypassed collapsed...They had to do a very tricky procedure being so soon she just had the bypass made it more dangerous but they got the two stints in and she is doing well....It was very very close! We are very thankful! And even though she doesnt do the computer I wanted to tell her Happy Birthday Mom!!! She turned 75 yesterday and it was her first day out of the hospital....As soon as shes ready we are all going out to her favorite place to eat and celebrate another start and turning 75...I havent had a chance to make anything new so I thought I would post this Valentine card I made not too long ago using some bling bling I found at Michaels in the shape of lips...Added some gingham and a love charm for a quick clean and simple card...Hope all is well with you all and thanks so much for being patient and stopping by today!
