Friends give full color to our lives...

I love designer papers and whenever I go out to the craft store I tend to flip through and oogle over all the pretty colors and patterns...I have been blessed to have my Aunt Lori keep me stocked up on some great designer paper stacks (Thank you Aunt Lori if your reading this :D)
This paper is from one of those DCWV stacks and I just LOVE the colors in it...They are so happy to me, reminds me of springtime...There was a challenge over at SCS Clean and Simple Challenge #51 to use this type of paper and make a card so I covered the whole card front with a sheet of paper then punched out butterflies in coordinating colors and added some bling for sparkle with a vellum sentiment I matted on white...I wanted to say a special thank you to MissBoo who hosts the challenges every week to give us inspiration along with the design team for all their wonderful creations! This is my favorite challenge and I look forward to it everyweek! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a Wonderful Week....

Wild West

Hey I am finally putting up a card thats not Valentines! I had a request from someone to make her a card for her son in law who works for Wells and Fargo and to somehow incorporate that into the card...she had mentioned maybe a horse and buggy...so with the help of google ( I LOVE google) I found this image and I thought it would make a great masculine card pairing it with black and kraft....It needed some oomph! And I remembered a wonderful idea I saw from Momis Mama over at SCS on this fantastic card she made here...Its one of my all time favorites by her....I need some lessons on how to make it look as good as her rope but I thought it added alot to the card, then finished it off with four black sticker brads (I just love those because they are so easy to use and no bumps come through and they look like real brads) So thanks to Momis Mama for her wonderful inspiration for this card!

true love doves...

I have gotten carried away with Valentine cards this past week...I wanted to combine my Martha Stewart Dove Punch and Stampin Ups Heart Punch to make a Valentine card...I ended up using the negative part of the heart punch and using pop dots raised it up off the red behind it, then added my doves using pop dots too so it has a 3-D effect...Not sure if it shows up in the photo as much as real life but it has alot of depth to it in person...I had a vellum sentiment and ended up using it in a tag style on the card...This card was so fun and easy to make! Have a wonderful week! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

love abbreviated...

Hey! Its cold here in The Sunshine State and I have been working on my Valentine cards and staying warm...On this card I used a vellum quote to put over a piece of white cardstock (tip on tape not showing through make the vellum long enough to go around the stock and tape on back)
I then punched out a pink heart and slid it between the vellum and cardstock (a bit of tape on back of the heart keeps it from falling all the way through) a bit bling and thats it...A Clean and Simple Design for A Valentine...Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Bag O' Valentines...

Happy Monday! Hope you are all started off to a great week! Theres a challenge over at SCS to make a CAS Valentines Card...I had this idea last year and never got around to making it so I thought this would be a good time...And in case your wondering "what is that?" theres a story behind it....When I was in Elementry School (LONG ago) they use to have us all put a brown bag under the chalk board so when Valentines Day came everyone would put their Valentines in the brown bags that lined up and had the name of each person on the bag...(you could add a name to this if you wanted but I left it off) I remember there were some kids whose bag would be overflowing and others who didnt get many...I used to feel bad for them...But most of the Valentines were handmade cut out hearts...So this is my Bag O' Valentines (well not mine I never got this many) which brings back childhood memories...Anyone else out there used to do this in school or have a story to share? And I just want to say "May your Valentine Bag Overflow this year"...Hugs...Cookie

How Do I Love Thee...CAS Style

Well its time to get ready for the next holiday...Valentines Day!! My Aunt Lori got me this wonderful Stampin Up Heart Punch for Christmas and this is my first card I made using it...I had this paper and thought it might be fun to pair the two up to put a sentiment with it inside that reads..."How do I love thee...let me count the ways..." Not sure about the bling in the center of the heart....and/or whether I should somehow incorporate the sentiment to the outside this is one of those cards that just seems like something missing??...What do you think?

Fire Fighter....

I had a special request to make a card for someone who had a good friend that just became a Fireman...I found this CUTE embellishments set by "Me and My Big Ideas" (Soft Spoken Line)...Its so much fun to make a card using these fun sets! All you do is arrange the different pieces in a way thats pleasing to you and add paper! The paper I chose to go with this I thought was so cool it reminded me of drops of water which I thought would be perfect for a Fire Fighter...I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful start to the new year ahead! I hope its full of wonderful blessings for you!
