Joy 2013

Hi!  Hope you are doing well...I had two different designs for Christmas cards and I went with the second one I have posted here today...Using the Joy die cut and tying red bows out of ribbon to attach to the top of the "O" using double back take...Then bling was added for fun...I make about 50 cards every year and try to make it to where its not to overwhelming...Thats why I really like the Clean and Simple style for my Christmas cards...One thing for sure its still not always fast...LOL...If you know what I mean...But no coloring and no stamping helped a lot this year...I was inspired by a billboard I see every year during Christmas that uses these colors...Its Tiffany Jewelers...Thanks for stopping by today...Merry Christmas...Cookie

Happy Birthday Cilla!

Happy Birthday Cilla!!!  On this day at 7:20 PM you came into the world...I was just reading through your baby book and remembering that night like it was yesterday...I went to the hospital at 5AM and you arrived at 7:20PM.  The Dr. came into the room and asked me what name I had decided on and I told him I wasnt sure if I wanted to name you Cassie or Priscilla he said "Im not sure about Cassie but Priscilla is very nice" and I thought so too!  You were so calm and looking all around at everyone so closely. I remember it all like yesterday you had so much hair!  It was so exciting to wake up everyday to see you!  Now that you are a Mom I know you know what I mean its a wonderful feeling and one of the best days of my life... We are hoping you are having a wonderful day....We love and miss you very much....I wish we were all together to celebrate....Love you, Mom, Rick and Ricky...

Spooky Window...

Hi!  Well I sure have gotten back into making cards lately...I had to step away for a while because of some personal issues but I hope to be back in the swing of things.  On this card I used a die cut my Aunt got me for my Bday...(If it werent for her I would not be able to make all the cards I make...I am very grateful for her).  I created a window scene by placing a piece of black cardstock behind the window and using different punches for the rest...Some stars were added for a bit of shine...Hope you enjoy the weekend!  Thanks for stopping by...

Pumpkin Time

Hi!  Heres another fall card using the cute images I found over at Whimsie Doodles site...I wanted to give the effect that she was sitting on the pumpkin so I ended up printing the digi image twice so I could cut just the legs and put dimensionals behind them as well as the small pumpkins in front of the punched out fence....A bit of jute ties up in a bow for texture...Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week!

Trick or Treat Fun...

Happy Thursday!  I just love making Halloween cards...The colors are so much fun to work with...I found this cute digi image over at Whimsy Doodles site...They have some great Halloween digis to chose from...On this card I ended up cutting out the whole image and putting her against a black background which then needed a moon so I punched one out with my circle punch and then added a black bat (also a punch).  I thought some stars in the sky would be fun so I found these sticker stars by Recollections a bit of ribbon and then for the last touch I stamped out the trick or treat and cut it out...I have had this paper for a long time and finally put it to use!...

Sending a Happy Halloween

During the spring I made a card with the same idea but used butterflies instead...On this one I went with a Halloween theme and added some googly eyes to these cute punched out bats...Then positioned them as if they were flying out of the envelope....For texture I added an embossed panel and tied off the envelope with a little ribbon with the sentiment "Happy Halloween"....I had fun making this one!!

Hedgie with Flowers...

Hello!  Well it looks like summer is on the way out and fall is on the way in!  Which here in Florida means its going to be hot for a while longer...But its fun to get ready for fall anyway...I thought the orange and green would be good choices for this card since theres alot of that in the stores right now...Theres a challenge over at SCS and this is the sketch they are using for today...Takes the thinking out of the layout...And I am layout challenged for sure!  The hedge hog and some of the flowers and the butterfly were cut out and popped up for dimension...Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are all doing great!!

Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has sprung!  Well at least it has on this card...I originally wanted to make a tiny envelope on this using a template till I ran across this mini envelope that was bigger but it ended up working best with this butterfly punch I used...I used my ribbon to chose the colors I would use for my butterflies...I then arranged them as if they were flying out of the envelope and tiny pearls were added to the centers...You could use just the tiny butterflies on a smaller envelope and maybe print out a message to slide inside partially sticking out like "Happy Birthday" just for fun...Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Special thanks to Lori Hamilton for being the Guest Designer last week!

Valentines Day with Guest Designer Lori Hamilton

Happy Valentines Day!  I am so excited to share this cute creation by our Guest Designer Lori Hamilton!  Isnt this the sweetest card!  I just love the colors Lori chose and how she framed out this Digi Image in the heart die cut then layered it with the pink coordinating paper...Love the scalloped layer...Then she layered the sentiment with two different sized circles and then a scalloped one to the bottom....The sweet heart buttons which Lori even threaded with twine top this sweet Valentine card off!  Lori always makes sure she decorates the inside of her cards with coordinating papers which she did on the inside of this one along with a digi stamp in the corner...It's always a treat to share Lori' Designs because she always gives so much love and detail to her cards....Thanks so much for stopping by today and special thanks to Lori Hamilton who let me share this sweet card with you on this Valentines Day...

Love Tree...

Hi!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready for a great new year!  I am hoping to spend a lot more time posting on my blog this year and I want to start it off by posting this fun Valentine card!  You could use it for any occasion since love is all year round...My sweet Aunt brought me over some goodies and this die cut really inspired me!  It was so cute all on its own it really didn't need much else...I framed it out and popped up the love to give it dimension...I wanted to note also that I only put double back tape on the back of the trunk on the bottom so the limbs and hearts could be free floating...paired this with some stripe paper and added some coordinating tags for fun....Its all done in my favorite style of Clean and Simple...Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy New Year to you all!
