Christmas Time Is Here....

Yep its that time of year again!  I titled my post from a line of one of my favorite Christmas songs from Charlie Brown Christmas...LOVE that special...Linus always pulls at my heart strings when he reminds us of what Christmas is all about...I wanted to make something to give as a hostess gift for the Christmas party this year...I usually take an ornament but I thought of something a bit different to try...You can use the Michaels coupons to save on the items you purchase...They have these cute white lanterns in the Wedding section of the store and I like to put one out at Christmas on the table next to my centerpiece and light it up....On this hostess gift I filled the lantern with Hershey Kisses and came up with the poem you see printed out...Once the kisses are all gone they put in a tea light (I purchased a battery operated one so the top doesnt get too hot and it wont effect the poinsettia I attached)...I added an extra tea light inside the box...Click on the photo to enlarge and read the poem that will go inside the box...I hope you are having a great Christmas Time....Now you know I have to add this video!

Paper Stack Card

Hi!  Hope you are having a great week so far!  I don't know about you but I have several designer packs of paper and sometimes I don't get around to using them especially if they are fancy ones since I tend to do alot of whimsy stuff...So I decided to get them out and use them...I ended up using the paper itself as the focus and cut and popped out the butterfly to give it dimension...Some bling was added and I matted the image and coordinated papers were also added...Then a pretty satin black ribbon and I was done...No stamping or coloring involved...And I used up some papers out of my stack...I ended up making a few for the shop....I hope you like it...Thanks for stopping by today...Have a great weekend...

Pretty Papers and Butterflys...

Happy Tuesday!  Looking through my stuff I decided I really need to start using some of this designer paper...I tend to make cutesy, whimsy stuff and I consider this style "foo foo"...fancy....but I need to break away and use it....so I decided to just make the paper speak for itself....This paper was in one of those DCWV small stacks and I just cut it down and layered it and added some butterflys that I punched out using the Martha Stewart punch and then added some tiny pearls...Pop Dots were used to give dimension to the layers...You cant see in the photo but the paper has a bit of sparkle on the flowery part of it...Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hound Dog

Hi!  Hope you are all doing great today...Summer is going by so fast!  Its been so nice to get back into posting again on the blog and over at SCS....Today's challenge was to be inspired by music so I used this cute stamp by Penny Black for my cards entitled "Hound Dog" which is by one of my favorite singers Elvis Presley!  I stamped the image twice so I could cut out and pop up different parts for dimension....The scarf, the cute doggies head and his dog bone....I found a brad in my stash that went perfect with the red and white polka dot paper...Don't you love when that happens?  Thanks so much for stopping by and if you get a chance go over to SCS and play the challenge for today...here's the link!
