Shabby Chic Bird (CAS Design)

Theres a challenge over at SCS to make a Shabby Chic card using the Clean and Simple Design...I really had to think this about this combination...While Shabby Chic cards are usually made using several elements on the card I just narrowed them down but still kept what I see in a Shabby Chic Style...The only thing I had that reminded me of Shabby Chic was this SU Bird Punch since birds and birdcages are usually a part of a room design in a Shabby Chic room and alot of times they are painted white or cream so my bird is white, Pink was the color I chose for the mat since its a popular shabby color and gingham on the wing for pattern, I distressed my paper using scissors to give the worn look that is so popular in the shabby chic design...I used lots of white which I see alot in shabby chic rooms or creams...I used texture by using my cuttlebug to emboss the swiss dots and some bling was added for shine to the birds eye...and last I added fabric by using the satin ribbon to the top of the card...I was so wanting to do a chandelier in white ink on pink with bling but didnt have what I needed for it..Maybe one day I will try that! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Christina!

Hi! First of all I want to wish my niece Christina a very "Happy Birthday"....I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy your special day and most important have FUN! I didnt want to post a photo of your card because then you would know what it look like before you got it....so todays card is a special request I had for someone who loves classic cars...In this case I chose a 57 Chevy out of the cars they told me they liked and since Christina works for Nascar she would appreciate someones love for cars....The car was cut out and the window too to look like its rolled down and brads were added to the center of the tires...Sakura Silver Stardust pen was also added for sparkle...Wish it showed up in the photo...I had plans to use checkerboard paper to mimic race flags but couldnt find any so I found this fun retro looking paper and it worked! The inside reads "Hope your Birthday is a Classic!".....and Christina I hope yours is too!!! Hugs and Love, Aunt Cookie :D

A good friend of mine called me with a Mothers Day card request so I decided to make a shadow boxed effect card...I thought these colors were so happy and hopefully they make his Mom smile on her special day...A bit of bling and a butterfly were added for fun along with a ribbon tag...I found some polka dot paper that I used to customize the envelope and punched out a circle as a seal...Have you started on your Moms card yet? I just finished my Moms and will be putting it in the mail tomorrow....its getting close! Have a great day!
